<p>Brisbane is one the largest cities in not only Australia, but also in Asia-Pacific. The city is served by Brisbane Airport, a large  airport city&rsquo; consisting of both a domestic and international terminal separated by over a kilometre. The airport is situated in the eastern suburb of Pinkenba, overlooking Moreton Bay.</p> <p>Brisbane Airport operates most international flights to Asia, which links to the rest of the world. Over the past few years, direct connections to Los Angeles have also been in operation several times a week. Domestically, Brisbane&rsquo;s busiest connections are to Melbourne, Sydney and several destinations in the Great Barrier Reef region, such as Whitsundays Islands, Cairns and Mackay.</p> <p>The international terminal at Brisbane Airport is only moderate in size when comparing it with Sydney and Melbourne, but still provides sufficient facilities such as spacious check-in areas, welcoming staff and various shops, restaurants and cafes. The domestic terminal is located about one kilometre east of the international terminal, and operates Qantas, Virgin Blue and Jetstar flights.</p> <p>The international airport services quite a number of airlines, including Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Thai Airways, Royal Brunei, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Etihad Airways and Emirates Airlines. Brisbane Airport services routes to over two dozen international destinations across the Asia Pacific region.</p> <p>The most popular international routes from Brisbane are most of the Asian hubs that connect to Europe or the Americas. These include Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Nevertheless, as aforementioned, the direct flight to Los Angeles on Qantas is the longest route Brisbane Airport offers.</p>
